How to troubleshoot browser audio
Choose the affected path
For missing speaker or headphone sound, start with the audio output test. For a silent microphone, check input permission and the selected device separately.
Record what you hear or see
Keep volume low. Note which channel is audible, whether the microphone meter follows speech, or when the sound drops out. A browser test checks the complete current path.
Repeat after one change
Change one output setting, connection or input selection, then repeat the same reference. Use the comparison to decide what to check next rather than guessing which component failed.
