Measure only what the setup can support.

Every result must explain what happened, whether the setup was eligible and what remains uncertain.

Measurement modes

WaveLocus distinguishes subjective output checks, acoustic loopback, electrical loopback and digital or virtual loopback. Results from one mode are not presented as if they came from another.

Eligibility before result

Advanced measurements receive an eligible, limited, unsupported or invalid state before a number is shown. Browser API availability alone does not make a measurement reliable.

Levels and calibration

Digital dBFS describes the software signal, not physical sound pressure. WaveLocus does not infer SPL without a defensible calibration path.

Reproducibility

Method versions, settings, observations, changed variables and limitations belong with the result so the same experiment can be repeated later.
