Keep the same versioned reference
A useful comparison retains the signal method, level convention, route, frequency, seed and duration. New finite references use the same generated source for live playback and export at the same sample rate. Older recipes keep their original meaning; long legacy noise playback and old exports may differ. Do not combine an old baseline with a new method as if the signals were identical.

How to interpret your audio baseline comparison results
A saved baseline differs from a new run: Check method, sample rate, device path and capture settings before attributing the difference to equipment.
A metric is withheld or the methods differ: Do not replace it with zero or combine incompatible runs. Keep the original record and repeat an eligible measurement.
